Getzoe.com Month 82 November/December 05
|
The next morning, Bigs and Cam-Cam arrived to pick us up.
We played at the park for a little while, then we all went to
Coco's for some scrambled eggs and chocolate chip pancakes.
I started this month with a fun sleepover with Sydney. We got
to spend the entire night away from our parents, playing with
each other and some classmates at the YMCA--it was really fun.
On our first night in town, we went to Dad's favorite--Benny's
Mexican Cantina to have dinner with Papa & Berta. Dad
swears by the place but it just looks like a greasy dive to me.
For the week of Thanksgiving, we went to
Colorado. Here I am posing for the camera,
while we wait for the shuttle bus at DIA.
The next day, we woke up in Vail to piles of snow and plenty of
sunshine. Please note: Dad made the ultimate sacrifice by not
skiing at all during our 3 days there, despite prime conditions.
I got to have an ice rink all to myself and learned to skate for
the first time. Dad would hang on to me, while I would hang
on to this giant traffic cone. It was pretty hard to get around.
One afternoon, Mom took a big nap, so we went outside of our
hotel to make a snowman. This is "Sparky Clownhair". It
started snowing when we left, so he may still be there today.
Here's a close-up of our boy, Sparky. He was a happy little
guy with a crooked smile and disfigured ears but we loved him
anyway. I took his hair home with me before we checked out.
In an effort to relive the frolicking days of my youth, we took
another horse-drawn carriage ride through Vail. But this time,
I got to be the driver for a while. Phew, that horse was smelly.
The next day, Bigsy ate a big chocolate donut
and got sick, so Dad and I had a date. We ate
pasta and then went to the US Ski Museum.
The next day, on our way back to Denver, we
stopped off at Keystone to monkey around and
have lunch. Here I am coming down a slide.
Finally, it was Thanksgiving morning. Time for a good old
fashioned Turkey Day get together--which of course meant
dressing like a loony pilgrim and having a buffet at the Westin.
This alley was pretty cool and it even had
special light balls for us junior bowlers. Here I
ready to toss down yet another strike...out.
To work off our dinner, we all went bowling. I always like to
bowl but Bigsy just loved it (it was his first time ever). Here I
am posing with my cousins, Tasha, Kailey and Jeremy.
Back home and with Thanksgiving over, it was
time to turn our attention to more important
holiday matters--that's right, cookie making.
With about 10 different sprinkles to choose from, we made
some pretty colorful cookies, although I have to admit that
tasted a little strange. Maybe Bigsy handled them too much.
Only three weeks until Christmas--time for
the annual visit to the tree lot to select the
lucky tree that will be the star of our holiday.
Back home, I get to place the first ornament
on the tree. Dad let me stand on a stool so
that I could get it up really high this year.
For the first time ever, we attended the Laguna Niguel
Holiday Parade, as it cruised down Crown Valley. Here comes
Santa clause rolling down the street on a horse-drawn carriage.
Nothing beats hanging out with the family, eating snacks and
talking shop while a never ended parade of marching bands,
clowns, politicians, dancers and cub scout troops cruise by.
You know, he pester each
other a lot but at the end of
the day, I really love this little
guy (just don't tell Mom &
Dad this). Hope you're having
a great holiday season.
