GetZoe.com Month 59
Dec 03/Jan 04
The month leading up to Christmas are
always tradition-filled at the Jacobin
house. We usually kick-off the season
with daddy shouting out "bad" words
when the lights don't work.  From
there it gets a whole lot better--picking
out the tree (this year's was a doozy),
watching the Newport Boat Parade,
seeing the lights in Ftn Valley, going to
see Nutcracker, our annual Christmas
Party, tons of fun stuff.  Well, enjoy
the shots from this year's festivities.
Finally, Christmas morning has arrived and the first order
of business is to confirm that Santa ate the cookies that I
left out for him. He did, and Rudolph even ate his carrots!!!
Bigs and I had a great time opening presents.  I got lots of
makeup, Barbie stuff, clothes, toys and some books.  Bigs
scored a lot of sports equipment and toy trucks this year.
After the show was over, we all sat down for a nice,
refreshing Christmas lunch of bologna sandwiches and
crackers.  Good eatin' and good for you.
Bigs and I have deemed the dining room
table to be our second home.  Whenever we
play hide and seek, it's our favorite spot.
The week after Christmas was chock-full of fun activities,
although the whole family seemed to have a really bad
cold.  Here I am enjoying some Vietnamese food.
Mom hosted a lovely tea party for me, so I got to invite all
my friends over to my house.  We played dress-up, put on
makeup and ate like rock stars.  It was a great afternoon.
One of my favorite places continues to be
Dave & Busters.  I always play  skeeball
first (although I keep calling it "bowling").
Lately, I've become very interested in
bringing the newspaper inside the house.
One day I went and got it all by myself.
On another day the week after Christmas, I got to see
"The Nutcracker" ballet for the first time.  I was very
surprised that they didn't do any talking.
I wore my very favorite dress for the day's festivities.
Dad treated me to a brownie and some milky for energy
but I only made it to the first intermission.  I was pooped.
Here he is trying to do some sort of tricky picture of us in
the mirror.  I don't think it looks very tricky myself.
Before we left, dad wanted to get some
pretty pictures of me in my fancy dress.
On January 6th, my new cousin arrived.  His name is
Quinn Tobin and he is Anhthy & Mark's little boy.  He's
tiny--weighing in at a hefty 4 lbs 8 oz when he arrived.
Even though Christmas break was over, I still wasn't
feeling very good.  Dad had to bring me into the office one
morning.  Seemed like a good time to do some math.
Grandma Cookie & Big Al came to visit us for a couple of
days this month.  Here I am walking along the beach with
Big Al (just seconds before the fool let me get soaked).
And here I am taking a stroll with Grandma Cookie.  We
like to walk along the beach together and talk about cool
stuff like birds, doggies and the water.
While we were shopping down on the beach, we picked up
some art projects.  We made pretty frames for some
pictures that Bigs and I had painted the day before.
Bigs tries to do whatever I do, but sometimes he's too
little.  I had to be in charge of the glue and scissors so
that he wouldn't get hurt or make a big mess out of things.
Bigs is kinda crazy but he's a great
brother.  He's starting to talk now
and he calls me "Nana", which I
guess sounds like Zoe in his freaky
baby language.

Well, thanks for stopping by. See
you again soon.

                       Zobo's Quote of the Month
The days leading up to Christmas are always tough for Zoe--especially the part where she has
to stare at piles of presents sitting under the tree that she's not allowed to open until the big
day.  Needless to say, she rolls out every trick in the book.  I thought you might enjoy a
sampling of some of her more successful offerings...
- Daddy, have I been a goooooooooooooooood girl this year?
- Hey, I think we should open it because maybe it's a football.
- You know...I haven't opened any presents for a loooooooooooong time.
- Did you hear that?  I think it's a puppy in there. Hurry, we have to let him out.
