GetZoe.com Month 58
Nov/Dec 2003
Lots of fun stuff this month--a thanksgiving trip to Denver,
my first time on skis, hot-tubbing with dad and my annual
Christmas Pageant at school.  But let's get started with a
Ducks game we went to with my good pals, Harry and Sydney.
Up top, that's all of us kids wreaking havoc at our local Island's Restaurant.  We all scarfed
cheeseburgers and fries and then ran around like crazy to get prepped for the game.  Down
below, that's all of us in our seats.  The old man won 10 tickets at work, so we were able to
take all three families to the game.  We had a great time, even though the Ducks lost.
Here's a shocker--a picture of me making a funny face with dad dressed in some variation of
a Cubs jersey.  Bet you've never seen that startling image before.
On the left, that's me looking very excited to be on my first "air trip" in a long time.  I like
holding onto the DIA tram rail "all by myself".  And on the right is a vision of energy
personified in the form of my Papa.  "C'mon pal, look alive!"  Papa took us to a very nice
South American restaurant--where I ordered my usual entree of a bean burrito with rice.
Then it was on to the Embassy Suites where we spent a couple of days with my Aunt Kristen's
family and my Grandma Cookie & Big Al.  On the left, that's us enjoying a very nice
Thanksgiving dinner.  After dinner, all of us kids treated the gang to a rousing, albeit
disturbing dance marathon to the driving jams in Big Boy's boom box.  We rocked that hotel.
As usual, Tash and I were fast friends.  Within minutes, we'd already coined the phrase "She
hit me...she bit me!!"  She thinks I'm a little crazy and I know she is, so we get along real
well.  For instance, that's her blowing bubbles in her milk at dinner.  I mean how cool is that?
The day after Thanksgiving, we packed up the car and cruised to Winter Park ski resort for
some good old fashioned winter wonderland fun.  On the left, that's me building a cute little
snowman (that's right, named "Sparky").  And on the right, that's me with Bigs (aka,
"Sergie") playing with the snow on the balcony of our condo.  We had a great view from our
place--that's the ski run just past our balcony.  It was a blast.
The first day we were there, we got to go on a really cool sleigh ride through the forest.  It
was a beautiful day--sunny and not too cold--but cold enough that we had to snuggle under
the heavy blankets that they gave us.  I even got to hold the reigns for part of the ride.
At the halfway point of the sleigh ride, we stopped and got warm by a great big camp fire.
That was cool because dad let me throw a couple of sticks into the fire.  Then the driver gave
all of us some hot cocoa to sip on.  Mom stayed behind with Bigs on the sleigh--he was out.
On the left, that's me taking a picture of daddy taking a picture of me--how crazy.  And on
the right, that's me downing another hot cocoa the next morning.  I needed to get in some
liquid courage for my next adventure--my first ever time on skis!!!
Dad and I both rented skis and met the instructor at the bunny hill.  He was a very nice guy
and he had a son who was just a little bit older than me.  I took two rides down this hill and
then I wanted to go on the mountain (my teacher was a bit surprised).  By the end of the day,
I had gone all the way to the top of the mountain and did "pizza" skiing all the way down.
After a great trip to Denver and Winter Park, it was time for me get in some quality dance
routines at the airport.  You'll notice Bigsy's little boom box in the photo on the right.
With Thanksgiving out of the way, it was time to get geared up for Santa to come.  On the
left, that's me in the pink singing at my school pageant.  Sorry we don't have more shots, dad
sort of bungled his photo duties that day.  And on the right, we're picking up our tree.  Once
again, dad, nice work with the camera.  Does the word "blurry" mean anything in this family?
Dad's office is pretty cool.  They have an annual Christmas party for all the agency kids and
even Santa shows up.  We get to make ornaments, eat delicious snacks and visit with Santa.
On the left, sitting down on the table, you can see the spiffy little wreath ornament that I
made.  I think I was moving onto a candy cane ornament next.  On the right, that's me
belting out a few snappy holiday tunes for daddy's co-workers.  They loved my special brand of
magic.
Back at home, one of my favorite things to do is to visit the "hot pool" with daddy.  We have
nice conversations about school, friends and the world in general.  I think he likes me a bit.
Sometimes, after we visit the hot pool, we get to go to Dairy Queen to cool off.  I always get a
kids cone (but I like the cone wrapper at the bottom removed first--very important).  Mom
and dad think it's hilarious when I get the ice cream all over my face.  Here I am making a
bunch of funny faces in the car with dad.
Well, that's it...another fabulous month in the books.  Thanks for stopping by to see me.

           Zoe's Quote of the Month
Zoe is really starting learn her letters these days, so we've
been spending some time helping her understand how
words are spelled.  One game we play is the letter game
where we give her a letter and then ask her a question that
can be answered with a word starting with that letter.  After
a nice round of the letter game, I gave her a silly question.
"It starts with a P and you find it in Bigsy's diaper".  After
thinking about for all of 1 second, she yelled out "Poopoo".
I laughed and told her she was right.  But she didn't stop
there..."And peepee and pottie and farts and diarrhea!!" OK
honey, that's enough--sorry I asked.
