GetZoe.com Month 57
                  October/November 2003
Why don't we just call
this edition, "My Month
As A Chicken: 30 Days
Of Feathered Insanity".

As you can see, I was a
chicken for Halloween
this year (and don't
EEEEEEEVEN tell me
I'm a duck).  That furry
blob in front of me is my
duckling...I mean baby
chick.   Chicken's are
very maternal, you know.

Next to me is Syd, aka
"Super Girl".  I guess
she thinks my dad has a
background in dentistry.

That's right folks, it's
Halloween time.  Let the
good times roll!!
We planned another pumpkin-patch outing near the
Laguna Hills Mall.  That's Rollin, Bigs, me, Harrison and
Syd attempting to assemble for a group tractor photo.
This pumpkin-patch is my favorite because it has lots of
games and rides.  Here I am tossing ping-pong balls into
cups floating on a tub of water.  I won a stuffed pooch.
Here I am getting read to ride with my good buddy, Syd.
We rode "all by ourselves" and we didn't even scream.
We both wore our cool Halloween shirts that night.
Here's Syd giving us a little of her special brand of
Broadway magic.  She's got a pretty good voice and she's
quite the dancer--kind of a midget Ginger Rogers.
"Wow, this train seemed a whole lot bigger last year.  I
guess I'm almost a grown-up."  That's me and Syd in one
car and Harry and Rollin in the other.  Yipeee!!
Big Boy had a great time checking out all
the action.  I can tell he wants to be one of
the big kids--he liked watching the boys.
One weekend, we got to
visit our friends at Sean
and T's house.  Cade
and Joshy were both
there, so we tore the
place to shreds.  I
logged about 13 miles
that night and then we
finally tuckered out
enough for a this
touching pumpkin shot.
Those guys crack me up.
Finally, the big day was upon us--Halloween.  And that
means it's time for the annual school parade.  That's me
getting a little classwork done for the festivities begin.
Here I am making my grand entrance.  The crowd went
wild when they saw my outfit.  My little baby chick had a
great time watching everyone wave and smile at us.
There's Superman, heading out to show off his outfit.  In
case you didn't recognize the heaving pecs, that's Harry.
He digs the classic heroes--Superman & Spiderman.
We make a big loop around the parking lot and then we
kind of hang out until it's time for our class picture.  The
crowd was antsy, so I fired up some knock-knock jokes.
It's pretty much mass hysteria--hundreds of costumed
kids being chased by hundreds of camera-toting parents.
Not that I have any room to talk about camera-toters.
And here's a quick look at my class.  Suddenly, I'm one
of the big kids in class, so I have to set a good example by
behaving nicely.  Pretty soon, I'll be off to kindergarten.
Over the last few months, I've started broadening my
education.  I started taking French this fall (bonjour,
madame) and now I'm also getting into my violin lessons.
The teachers are trying to help us understand the various
notes, while we learn how to hold the instrument and use
the bow.  I really love my violin classes.
Here's the teacher helping me move my
arm up to get a better sound on the violin.
And there I am taking a breather with my
friend, Sara.  She's been playing for a while.
Well, that's it for this month--I hope you had fun.  Be sure to come back soon, as it's going
to be action-packed for the next few months.  Thanksgiving (I'm going on a trip), Christmas
(always lots of good action) and then it will be time to get ready for my birthday.  I can't
believe I'm almost 5 years old.  Yipes.  Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon.

                                  Zoe's Quote Of The Month
Now that Zoe is getting pretty proficient with her language, she's getting to be pretty good at
working her parents (what can we say, we're suckers for the little gal). Here are some of her
recent favorites:

"He's getting me" (Used to defend any action she's taken against Bigs, likely to elicit the
removal of Bigs, regardless of what, if anything, he's actually done)
"I was just petting him" (Used to defend any action she's taken against Bigs when she realizes
that we know that Bigs has done nothing wrong)
"Hey, we haven't been here in a long time" (Deployed every time we visit the donut shop,
despite the fact that we go there about once a week.  Also used to highlight the "infrequency"
of our frequent trips to the park, the hot tub, Dave & Busters or Disneyland)
"Daddy, you wanna snuggle buggle?" (Any use of the words "snuggle buggle" in that cute,
taunting voice is guaranteed to extend my tuck-in by at least half an hour)
