Month 44
September/October 02
Halloween's coming up next month, so
I've been giving a lot of thought to my
costume. The early leader is "a chicken".
Come back next month and see what
happens. Until then, let's find a pumpkin...
Since it's a giant farm, they let you pick all sorts of
vegetables--carrots, radishes and green onions.
Here I am snagging a few choice young green beans.
My good buddy, Harrison joined me for our little
adventure. Here we are checking out a variety of
pumpkins, which you can pick right off the vine.
Finally, after years of watching that lovely yellow
monstrosity cruise past my house every morning, I
got to ride in my first school bus. Yipeeeeeeeeeee!
Dad joined me for my first ever field trip, as we
made our way to the Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch
in Irvine. I smiled like this for 10 straight minutes.
A yes, this ratty little pumpkin would make a lovely
gift for my good buddy, Sydney, who wasn't able to
join us today. I'm sure she'll be thrilled.
"The fields are alive...with the sound of pumpkins! I
sit on this hay and I sing all day! The pumpkin I chose
is so delightful! I shall bring it home later on today."
On the ride home, I sat with Harrison and Dad, who
swapped stories about pickles (don't ask). Needless
to say the festivities ended in hysterics. Silly Harry.
Next to the farm, they have a lovely
(although extraordinarily stinky) petty
zoo. This pig and I became fast friends.
Whenever we hit our favorite pho
restaurant, I like to climb around in
their mini park. Here I am singing.
OK, not a very exciting shot but it's the only decent
one I have of Syd and me at my friend Sloan's party.
We ate pizza and chips and drank soda. Good times.
This is the greatest sausage restaurant in the world
and the site of Mommy's birthday breakfast. They
put cheese inside the sausage. Yummy stuff.
After breakfast, Dad fired up an impromptu
photoshoot. Here I am hamming it up for the
camera with the sign in the background. Nice Dad.
"Hey Dad, you're silly. Stop making that face,
you're making me laugh to much. I need to look
glamorous with my makeup and all. Stop!!!"
"OK, much better. Let me give you my look. There
you go, babe, snap away. Wait a minute, I need to
freshen up. OK, have at it. Nice. OK I'm done."
OK, for the first time ever,
we're posting this shot twice
because Dad thinks that this
(for the most part) captures my
personality best. I love
attention and I love to laugh
and have fun. Well, be sure to
come back next month to check
out my Halloween costume. It
will be a blast. Later.

Zobo's Quote Of The Month During one of Zoe's pre-sleep lessons, we were discussing the notion of a state and how we live in California. I mentioned to her that she'd been to one other state and gave her a couple of hints: it starts with a "C", it's really big and there's lots of stuff there. Finally, she guessed: "Costco?".

That's me in the
front row for my
annual class
picture. Harrison is
in the row behind
me, at my left
shoulder. My
teachers are Miss
Scarlet (left) and
Miss Heather. My
head teacher, Miss
Sarah was out sick
that day.
