HeyRyan.com Month 5
December 2002
Hey, my first Christmas--how exciting.
I guess we do a lot of shopping this
time of year, so I get to sleep in public
instead of at home.  Here I am with
Zoe enjoying the exciting environs of
our local Baby Gap.  Somehow, I even
managed to stay awake for almost an
hour after this picture. Geez, I'm just
getting so darn old.
Aaah, back in my cozy swing at home.  This used to be my
second crib but I've finally discovered the little spinning
toys in the front and now they drive me just crazy.
I'm becoming quite the smiler lately and I have a great
giggle.  Zoe really kills me with her constant cheers of "I
said a boom chickawaka chickaboom".  What a nut.
Mom and Dad like to have lots of holiday activities for us
kids.  In their ever-expansive quest to find new action, we
visited"Tinkle Towne".  Bad call. This was the highlight.
Now that I'm already busting into 12-18 month clothes,
Mom figured I might like some real food.  Here I am
having my first spoonfuls of rice.  Bring on the pizza!
It's the weekend before Christmas, so it's time for the
annual Holiday Party with our friends.  I actually did a
pretty good job chewing my way past the wrapping paper.
"C'mon Dad, don't you have anything better to do?  Why
don't you make yourself useful somewhere so I can swipe
one of these sweet-looking brownies that B-Luv made."
I was home the entire week before Christmas and that
meant a little quality time with the folks.  One day it was
just me and the big fella hanging out together. How cute.
And another day, Mama Kwee came over to hang out with
us.  After a couple of pics, Dad took Zoe to see "Pinochio"
while Grandma and I did some serious power-suggling.
On Christmas Eve, it suddenly dawned on everyone that I hadn't
been out to visit Santa.  Here I am waiting in line to meet him and
give him my list of presents that I'd like to get...sometime later
tonight.  Hey, since it's already Christmas Eve, maybe he can just
come home with us now and scratch one house off the list.
Christmas morning was lots of fun. I got to open my very
first presents from Santa, all of which had either rings,
balls or bells.  I had a blast checking everything out.
And here I am checking out a stuffed Kermit toy while
Zobo rips into what must have been 100 presents.  Just
give me something soft that makes noise and I'm good.
I spent a lot time watching Zoe's present
opening technique--a couple slight rips and
then a moan until Dad takes over.  Nice.
With all the presents opened and cleaned
up, it was family picture time with Zoe.
She's my hero--I watch her every move.
The weekend after Christmas, we all went to see the last Chargers
game of the season, an overtime thriller against the Seattle Seahawks.
Zoe provided most of the entertainment by leading cheers with her new
pom poms.  I loved my first official sporting event but was ready to
leave at halftime--it was just a little too cold for a young dude like me.
Leave it to the big fella to put a goofy
picture of me on my personal
website--thanks Dad. I'm sure I was
probably enjoying a nice, relaxing
drool-fest when he had to come up and
surprise me with the hot flash.  Nice
work, pal.  How about helping me out
with another cute Santa shot below?

Well, I'll see you again next month.
Hope your holidays were great.

OK, much better.
