December 2005
We tried something new for the holidays this year and decided
to hit the annual Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade.  It was
actually pretty good--lots of bands, clubs, cool cars and Santa.
California still has lots of cool looking old cars out on the
roads, but this one is really off the hook.  I was pretty quick
to point out all the cool flames that were painted on the side.
The latest twist to my ongoing obsession with trains is drawing
them.  I'm getting pretty good at it too.  I know the shapes
and numbers for each of Thomas and all of his friends.
One night, we got to have Camryn and
Syd over for a night.  We ate hot dogs
and then ran around the house like fools.
Now that we're well into the 3 "an ol" birthdays, I'm hitting
the birthday party circuit pretty hard these days.  This was a
"Dora" party at Laguna Niguel regional park by my house.
After loading up on cake, I was ready to burn
off some of that hard-earned energy on the
playground.  Look Mom, I can slide backward.
Aah, yes.  The annual visit to the Irvine Regional Park and my
very favorite--the Santa Train.  I get so excited for this event
that I nearly pee my pants right before we get on the train.
After a short ride into the park, we get to spend some quality
time with the big fella.  I let him know that I wanted to
receive some new Thomas trains and some music CD's.
Zoe and I helped to make the cookies that we left out for
Santa on Christmas Eve.  We also left some carrots in case
his reindeer were getting hungry from all that flying around.
Holy Cow!!  Can you believe the race track
that Santa brought me.  How in the world did
he get this crazy thing through our fireplace?
A couple of days after Christmas, we got to see the
Disney on Ice version of Nemo.  Here we are about to
get eaten by a giant shark (don't worry, it was fake).
The annual Christmas bash with all of our
friends was at the Kahrs this year.  Here I am
opening one of my many presents.
Toward the end of our Christmas vacation, we went down to
San Diego for a night and visited Sea World.  Here I am with
Dad riding on the sky tram over Mission Bay.
My favorite exhibit is the penguin village.  There are thousands
of penguins living in there--and all different types.  Part bird,
part seal, those penguins sure do give me a lot to think about.
After spending the night in our hotel in La Jolla, we got up
early, swung by Old Town and then on to the season-ending
Chargers-Broncos game at Qualcomm.  Man those guys are big.
It started out great.  Lots of smiles, popcorn and general
hilarity. Then I blew a gasket after screaming for "LP!" to get
a touchdown.  We were in the car heading home by halftime.
