NFL REGULAR SEASON RULES
1. Pick one winning team each week (straight-up, no spread).
2. Picks must be submitted to craigjacobin@cox.net by 5pm on Friday (unless notified for early games).  When the pick arrives, I'll reply
with a confirming email.  I will send out one warning note on Thursday evening to everyone.
3. The "Chavis Rule" states that if your pick doesn't get in by the deadline, you will automatically get the MNF favorite.  If you have used
that team, you'll get the MNF dog.  And if you've used that team too--you're out.  Just get your damn pick in, fool.
4. If your team wins, you stay alive to pick the next week.  Lose and you're out (but see the next rule).
5. If you lose during weeks 1 or 2, you can buy back into the pool for another $40 (you can do this both weeks if your prognosticative skills
suck that badly).
6. You can only use each team once during the season (regardless of whether or not you buy back or not).  The "2nd McGough Rule" states
that if you submit a pick for a team that you've already used and you're unlucky enough not to have me catch that, once the 5pm deadline
passes, you are out.
7. If there are multiple players alive after week 17, the pool continues by picking weekly full playoff schedules using a fresh slate of teams.
If the contest extends into the Super Bowl, there's the possibility that a dweller may run out of teams--if you run out of teams you are
automatically out of the pool, unless all other remaining dwellers have run out of teams too.   So the priority is as follows:
A. Pick winning team in week 21 and be the only dweller left standing.
B. Pick winning team in week 20 and at least have an eligible team to play in week 21.  If you're the only dweller who has a remaining team
for week 21, you win.
C. Pick a winning team in week 20 but have no remaining team to use.
8. If there is still a tie through the Super Bowl, the contest extends into the beginning of the following season using a fresh slate of teams
and no buy-backs.
9. If any week sees all remaining contestants lose, the week is considered a draw and all the players defeated that week are reinstated to
continue the game.  In this scenario, players who lost in previous weeks are NOT reinstated.
10. In the event of a selected game ending in a tie, the player must pick two games the following week to remain alive.  In that case, the
team chosen that had a tie game is still eligible to be chosen.
11. If there are 3 or less players remaining, $1,200 of the pot can be divided up with the balance remaining in the pot for the eventual
champion.  This can only happen if all of the remaining players agree to the deal.
12. The "McGough Rule" states that the last person left alive takes the remaining heap of benjamins--no further side deals with the other
finalists.
NFL PLAYOFF POOL RULES
1. For each week of the playoffs, you select 1 QB, 1 RB and 2 WR's, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 Defense as your starting six players for the week.
2. Each week, through the Super Bowl, you pick a new team of players & a defense as your starters. But you can't pick the any of the same
players/defenses twice.
3. Each week, your starting QB, RB, WR's and TE earn points through yardage gained passing, rushing or receiving, as well as for touchdowns.  Each
yard is worth 1 point, each touchdown is worth 60 points.  However, during the Super Bowl, touchdowns are worth 100 points.
4. I'm adding a new bonus feature in the Super Bowl, where you can pick either your RB, TE or either WR for 150 pt TD scoring during one quarter of
the game.  For example, if you pick Greg Jennings-WR/Green Bay in the 1st, you earn 150 points for any TD's he scores during that quarter.  Yardage
does not apply.
5. Kickers earn 10 points for extra points and 30 points for field goals.  Defenses earn 10 points per sack and 20 points per fumble recovery,
interception or safety.  Defenses can also score touchdowns, worth 60 points.  During the Super Bowl, kicker field goals are worth 45 points and
defensive touchdowns are worth 100 points.   Results will be taken from espn.com
6. Special teams plays do not count toward either the yardage or touchdown totals.
7. Select your starters for the week and email them to craig.jacobin@cox.net no later than Friday at noon pacific time. I'll send one reminder email
each week to everyone in the pool.  Anyone failing to turn in their picks on time will be SOL.
8. As a final week tie-breaker, you'll also need to project a yardage total for your starting quarterback in the Super Bowl.  In the event of a tie, the
participant who is closest (above or below) their starter's total is the winner.
9. I'll distribute everyone's picks on an excel spreadsheet before the first kick-off.  And the detail on the previous week's scoring will be there also.
The website will simply track total points scored each week and the running totals.
10. The highest total score gets 70% of the pot, 2nd place gets 20% and 3rd place gets 10%.  This year's pot of $2625  equates to $1837.50/525/262.50.

That's it. GOOD LUCK!!
Update...
As we make the final turn toward the finish line, I have a feeling this year's top three will be determined by one question...to Gronk or not to Gronk.  McManus and
McLean have Hernandez and Hastings has Gronkowski.
The Ballsy Pick of the Week...
The sad tale of Ed Morales should be taking center stage this week.  A long-time Hill Dweller, Ed is in the tough position of being in 8th place (still with an outside
shot at a payday) but with no viable QB.  As you'd suspect, rather than waking up on Sunday hoping for one of the Super Bowl starters to get in a nasty wreck on
the drive over to the game, he's abstained from fielding a lineup.  But that hasn't stopped our week 1 Ballsy Pick winner, Dwayne Bandaruk. At this very moment,
Dwayne is purchasing bottles of Dom to celebrate what he hopes will be a Brady injury, followed by a legendary performance from Brian Hoyer.  Go get em, DB!
